Most of us try to get through our day-to-day lives as conflict free as possible, but when it gets to the point of compromising our needs to make others happy, we can become resentful and unhappy in our own lives. In certain situations it can feel awkward to assert ourselves, and being caught in tense situations can dredge up painful memories and insecurities, left unable to stand up for ourselves.

In this week’s Recovery Coaching call, the group helped Samantha. Feeling stuck in a job she no longer feels fulfilled in, she is having trouble standing up to her husband about wanting to leave her job.

The group helped Samantha recognize a time when she first felt this way as a child. Growing up in a violent alcoholic home, she stayed quiet, vulnerable, and weak speaking up to authority. The group holds space and allows Samantha to feel anger, resentment, and process new emotions in order to allow her fully recognize her worth and begin the process of finding her voice and creating the life she truly wants.

In this week’s recovery coaching call, you’ll learn:

  • Signs you may be mitigating your own needs to keep others happy
  • Characteristics and thought patterns learned growing up in an alcoholic home
  • Ways to challenge common fears that may be holding you back
  • How to feel valued in our selves in order to create the life we deserve.
